Burglary and Jewellry Theft
The Great Cheverell crime wave continues with many people being targeted twice.
Click here to see the correspondence regarding the situation. The Parish Council want to start a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme but we do need a volunteer co-ordinator. Could you spare a few hours to really make a difference?

Queen's Diamond Jubilee
The Parish Council are planning an event (or events) to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The official weekend is the 2nd - 5th of June. The celebrations need to have elements that will appeal to all the various age groups and connect to the 60 years of HM Queen Elizabeth's reign.
So we're looking for ideas!

Planning News
The proposed new planning legislation is causing some concern. We shall highlight any particular issues but there is little doubt that developers are waiting enthusiastically on the sidelines to buy land for housing. We are looking at how we can get together as a village and construct a coherent plan.

Village Footpaths
Many of the footpaths in the village are getting overgrown and difficult to navigate. The Parish Steward is able to do some cutting back, but resources are limited. Councillor Paul Stevens would like to set up a group of footpath volunteers. They would meet about 3 or 4 times a year, walk the footpaths and undertake any repairs or cutting back that is required. Please email Paul if you can help.

Dog Walkers & Toxocariasis
Dog walkers, please clear up after your dogs on the playing field by the New Pavilion.
Children are playing football and other games on the grass.
It is not only unpleasant but when cuts and grazes come into contact with dog faeces, it can be dangerous.
HELP Emergency
We have no cheap way of alerting or contacting villagers when for instance a prisoner
escapes, there are burglars about or a contraversial planning application is received.
